Why Commission Motion Graphics from Zinn Hub?

Specialists, Not Generalists — Motion design, character work and 3D are different crafts. Judge the showreel for the one you need.
Storyboard Before Render — You approve boards and style frames while changes are still cheap.
Source Files on Your Terms — Decide up front between a render and the layered .aep or .blend with its linked assets.
Music Licensing Settled in Writing — Agree before you order whether the audio is a library track, a bespoke composition, or your own file.
Buyer Protection — As the Zinnector, your payment sits in escrow until the animation is delivered and you approve it against the agreed spec.
Verified Reviews, No Buyer Fee — Reviews come from confirmed purchases, and you pay the USD price you were quoted.

Motion Graphics That Explain, Sell and Look Like Your Brand

Motion graphics do a job static design cannot: they show sequence, cause and effect. An abstract product becomes obvious in thirty seconds, and a logo becomes something people recognise before the first word is spoken.

Working across formats? Pair animation with a video editing marketplace brief, settle a new mark in the logo design marketplace before animating it, or explore 3D modelling when your animation needs built geometry rather than flat vector artwork.

Why Hire Motion Graphics Designers on Zinn Hub?

Animation fails in predictable ways: vague scope, missing source files, unlicensed music, revisions raised after the render. Zinn Hub is set up so you can settle all four in writing before you pay.

Showreels You Can Actually Judge

Motion cannot be assessed from a still. Look for the moving work on a listing, so you can check easing, timing and transitions before you commit.

🗂️

Source Files, Agreed Up Front

Choose render-only or the layered project. Agree that a source order covers the .aep or .blend file, linked assets, pre-comps and the fonts list, so it opens cleanly on your machine.

🎵

Clear Music and Asset Licensing

Ask whether the audio is a licensed library track, a bespoke composition or your own file — and how far the licence is described as reaching for paid ads and broadcast — then confirm it in the message thread.

🛡️

Escrow-Backed Buyer Protection

Your payment is held in escrow until the animation is delivered and you approve it. If it misses the agreed duration, format or spec, you can raise a dispute instead of approving the delivery.

📐

Delivery Specs Written Down

Resolution, frame rate, codec, aspect ratios and whether you need an alpha channel are agreed before work starts. That habit prevents most animation rework.

Verified Buyer Reviews

Every review comes from a confirmed purchase — turnaround, file handling, how revisions were counted, and whether the promised source files arrived.

🏆

Built by People Who Have Commissioned This Work

Animation disputes are almost never about talent. They are about undefined scope, missing project files and music nobody checked the licence on. This marketplace is structured to settle all three before the first keyframe is set.

How to Commission Motion Graphics on Zinn Hub

Five steps that remove almost every cause of a failed animation order.

1

Decide the Deliverable, Not Just the Look

Write down duration, aspect ratios, frame rate, codec and whether you need an alpha channel. Browse Video & Animation to see how each job is normally packaged.

2

Shortlist by Showreel, Not by Rate

Search with Zinn Finder by describing your brief, then judge the moving work yourself. A superb motion graphics reel does not guarantee strong character animation.

3

Agree Stages, Revisions and Source Files

Confirm in the message thread that you sign off a storyboard and style frames before animation begins, how many revision rounds apply at each stage, and whether the project file is included.

4

Send a Complete Asset Pack

Supply vector logo files, hex colours, licensed brand fonts, the approved script and the final voice-over. Animation is timed to audio, so a late script change effectively restarts the job.

5

Order with Escrow Protection

Your payment is held in escrow until the animation is delivered and you approve it. Check the render against your spec sheet on the target platform before you approve it.

Frequently Asked Questions About Motion Graphics

Costs, source files, revision rounds, delivery specs and licensing — answered plainly.

Motion graphics are animated graphic design: type, shapes, logos, icons, charts and UI elements set in motion over time, usually without live-action footage. Typical deliverables are animated logo stings, explainer videos, kinetic typography, lower thirds, broadcast packages, UI motion and social ad animation. Most work is built in Adobe After Effects, with 3D elements from Cinema 4D or Blender.
Pricing is quoted in USD and scales with duration and style. A three to six second logo sting is commonly $30 to $150. Lower-third sets and simple social ad animations often fall between $50 and $250. A custom 60-second explainer with storyboard, style frames and voice-over sync usually starts around $300. Micro Zinns cover fixed-price jobs from $5 to $20.
Motion graphics is the subset of animation that moves graphic design elements to communicate information: type, logos, icons, data and interface components. Character animation is about performance and weight, and needs rigging, timing and often lip sync. A strong motion designer is not automatically a strong character animator, so judge the showreel for your specific discipline.
Only if you agree it before ordering. Many listings deliver render-only output such as MP4, MOV with an alpha channel, or GIF, and treat the layered project as a paid add-on. A proper source handover includes the .aep or .blend file, all linked assets, pre-comps and a fonts list, because a project without its linked media will not open cleanly.
A logo sting built from an existing vector logo is usually 24 to 72 hours. A 30 to 60 second explainer typically runs one to three weeks, because storyboard and style frames need approval before animation begins. Broadcast packages and 3D product animation take longer, since render time is a real constraint. Ask for a stage-by-stage schedule rather than one delivery date.
Send your logo as vector artwork such as AI, EPS or SVG rather than a flattened PNG, plus brand colours as hex values and the brand fonts with their licence details. For an explainer, supply the approved script and voice-over, since animation is timed to audio. State the final platform and aspect ratio up front, because reframing 16:9 to 9:16 is a rebuild, not a crop.
Lottie is a JSON format exported from After Effects through the Bodymovin plug-in that plays vector animation natively in a web page or app. It stays sharp at any resolution, weighs a fraction of a video, and can be looped or recoloured in code without a re-render. It cannot carry raster effects, heavy blur or complex 3D, so those still need a rendered file.
Two to three rounds is normal, and what matters is which stage each round applies to. Revisions at storyboard and style-frame stage are cheap; revisions after the final render are expensive, because timing, transitions and audio sync must all be rebuilt. Agree in writing what counts as a revision rather than new scope.

The Complete Guide to Commissioning Motion Graphics

Motion graphics sit between graphic design and film. Nothing is filmed and, usually, nobody performs — type, shapes, logos, icons, charts and interface elements are given timing, easing and hierarchy so an idea unfolds in a controlled order. A static diagram asks the viewer to work out what happens first; an animated one shows them.

Almost every unhappy animation order traces back to one of four things: the deliverable was never specified in technical terms, source files were assumed rather than agreed, the music licence was never checked, or revisions were raised after the render instead of at storyboard. Settle those four and the rest is craft.

What Counts as Motion Graphics

The category is broader than most buyers expect, and the sub-disciplines are genuinely different jobs.

  • Animated logo stings — three to six seconds of brand reveal, ideally with a transparent MOV so an editor can lay it over footage.
  • Explainer videos — thirty to ninety seconds explaining a product or process. Animation is the last stage, not the first.
  • Kinetic typography — type as the subject, timed to a voice-over. Common for lyric videos, podcast clips and short social ads.
  • Lower thirds and broadcast packages — name straps, bumpers and end cards as a reusable template set your own editor can retype.
  • UI, app and social motion — micro-interactions and loading states, often specified alongside a UX and UI design workstream, plus sound-off cutdowns for 9:16 and 1:1.
  • Character and 3D product animation — rigged performance work, or turntables and exploded views where geometry and render time drive the cost.

Understanding the Production Pipeline

A professional job runs in stages: discovery, scripting, storyboarding, style frames, animation, sound design, then render and delivery. Style frames are the pivotal step — two or three fully rendered still images that fix colour, type, illustration style and depth before anything moves.

This matters commercially because the cost of a change rises steeply along that line. Redrawing a storyboard panel takes minutes; changing the illustration style after style frames are approved takes a day; changing the script after the voice-over is recorded rebuilds almost everything, because every keyframe hangs off the audio. So when a Zinner offers two or three revision rounds, ask which stage each applies to.

The Tools, and What They Tell You

After Effects is the standard for 2D motion graphics and compositing. Cinema 4D is the traditional partner for 3D elements because it integrates cleanly with that workflow; Blender covers much of the same ground and is now common among independent animators, particularly where software cost matters. For finishing you may see Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.

Lottie changes the deliverable rather than the look. Exported from After Effects through the Bodymovin plug-in, it is a JSON file a browser or app plays as live vector graphics — crisp at every resolution, a fraction of the weight of video, and recolourable in code without a re-render. Only what vector shapes can express survives the export, so heavy raster effects, motion blur and complex 3D will not. Want an animated icon set on a Webflow site? Ask for Lottie. Want a filmic look? Ask for a rendered video.

Source Files Versus Render-Only Delivery

A render is a finished video file; a source file is the layered project that produced it. If you want source files, say so before ordering and define what a complete handover contains. An .aep alone is close to useless, because the project references footage, images, audio and fonts that live outside it. A proper handover is a collected project folder with every linked asset, pre-comps intact, and a fonts list with licence notes. For Blender, the equivalent is a packed .blend. Ask which software version it was built in, since a newer project will not open in an older release.

Music, Fonts and Licensing

Audio is where good animation projects become legal problems. A licensed library track means the animator bought a stock licence — check whether it covers paid advertising, broadcast and monetised platforms, and whether it transfers to you. A bespoke composition usually carries broader rights but costs more, so settle the terms in writing. Fonts catch people out just as often: a commercial font licence often covers desktop use only, with broadcast or app embedding treated separately, and a font handed over inside a source folder does not carry its licence with it.

Render and Delivery Specs to Agree Before You Pay

  • Duration and aspect ratios — 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5 are separate builds, not crops. Ask up front and they are cheap.
  • Resolution and frame rate — 1920x1080 or 3840x2160, at 24, 25, 30 or 60fps, matching the edit it will live inside.
  • Codec and container — H.264 MP4 for web, ProRes or DNxHR for an editor, and MOV with an alpha channel wherever the animation sits over footage.
  • Captions, loops and safe areas — burned in or a separate SRT, whether a Lottie loops seamlessly, and where platform interface elements overlay a vertical video.

Writing a Brief an Animator Can Quote Against

State the objective in one sentence, then the audience, platform, duration and deadline. Attach two or three reference animations and say what you like about each, because a reference without a reason reads as a request to copy. Name the style direction, list every asset you can supply, and state your budget in USD — animators scope to a budget, so a stated figure gets a realistic proposal instead of a hopeful one. Send the logo as vector artwork, give hex values rather than descriptions of your colours, and have the approved script and recorded voice-over in hand before animation starts.

What This Should Cost

Everything on Zinn Hub is quoted and charged in USD. A short logo sting from an existing vector mark commonly runs $30 to $150. Lower-third sets and simple social ad animations typically land between $50 and $250. A custom 30 to 60 second explainer with storyboard, style frames, original illustration and voice-over sync generally starts around $300 and scales with the amount of bespoke artwork. Character and 3D work cost more per finished second, because rigging and render time are unavoidable inputs. Testing a new animator? A fixed-price Micro Zinn between $5 and $20 shows you how someone communicates and handles files first. Buyers pay no platform fee, and a first order can be free with the full amount returned on completion.

Where Motion Graphics Fits Alongside Other Work

A brand refresh settles the mark in the logo design marketplace before anyone animates it. A campaign film needs finishing, so pairing a motion designer with the video editing marketplace keeps edit and graphics consistent. Product visuals often begin as geometry from the 3D modelling marketplace, investor decks want animated builds close to presentation design, and short vertical animation pairs naturally with TikTok marketing and UGC creator briefs. Comparing platforms instead? Our Fiverr alternative for video editing, Upwork alternative and Coconala alternative pages cover how escrow and verification differ, and Filipino video editors helps if you are hiring in Asia.

Getting Started

Start with the deliverable, not the aesthetic. Write the technical spec, gather the asset pack, shortlist three animators on moving work in your sub-discipline, and settle stages, revisions and source-file terms before ordering. Browse the graphic design marketplace if you still need a static identity, explore AI video services if speed matters more than bespoke craft, or search with Zinn Finder to surface relevant animators.
