Why we built it differently.
Most freelance marketplaces treat sellers like inventory and buyers like wallets. We don't think either of those is okay.
Zinn Hub was born from two decades of watching the same story play out: talented freelancers losing 20% of every pound to platforms that refuse to let them build a real brand, and buyers left alone the second payment clears — gambling on reviews and hoping it works out.
We decided to flip that model. Sellers get lower fees, instant payouts, and full branding control. Buyers get vetted freelancers, active project guidance, and a founder they can actually reach. Everyone gets transparent pricing, a real community, and a team that picks up the phone.
There was a second thing we wanted to fix, and it took far longer. Freelancing calls itself global, but it isn't — not really. On every other marketplace the work goes to whoever writes the best English, not to whoever does the best work. A brilliant developer in São Paulo loses to someone less capable with better prose. That isn't a market working; it's a market rewarding the wrong thing.
We didn't want to translate our menus and call it international. We wanted the communication barrier gone entirely. So we built it: the whole platform in 46 languages, with listings, briefs, messages and reviews translated both ways, the text inside listing images translated, and live calls carried across any language gap by real-time captions or a spoken translated voice. As far as we know, Zinn Hub is the first freelance marketplace where two people who share no language at all can find each other, agree the work, talk it through live, and get it delivered. Meet the founder
Zinn Hub was started by Neil Lock. He's spent 25+ years inside the freelance economy — as a buyer, as a seller, as an agency owner hiring specialists, and as an SEO consultant working with thousands of freelancers across every corner of digital. Along the way he's personally managed over £50 million in link building and digital marketing campaigns.

So in 2025 he started building Zinn Hub. Not another Fiverr. Not another faceless matching engine. A marketplace where sellers keep more of what they earn, buyers get real help, and the founder is someone you can actually message at 9pm on a Tuesday and get a reply from.

The language layer came from the same place. Neil had spent years hiring specialists whose work was outstanding and whose English was not, and watching platforms quietly punish them for it. Removing that barrier properly — not with a language dropdown, but all the way down to the messages, the listings and the live calls — became the platform's most ambitious build, and the thing he's proudest of.

Can I use Zinn Hub if I don't speak English?
Yes. Zinn Hub runs in 46 full-platform languages, you can be messaged and notified in 58, and prices display in 59 currencies. Write your listings, briefs, proposals and messages in the language you think in — the person on the other end reads them in theirs, and their replies come back to you in yours. Even the text inside listing images is translated. Every translated message carries a “Show original” toggle, and we say plainly that machine translation is high quality but not flawless. Is Zinn Hub really the first marketplace with no language barrier?
As far as we know, yes — and we’d rather be corrected than overclaim. Plenty of platforms have a language dropdown that swaps the menus and buttons. We have not found another freelance marketplace that translates the work itself: the listings, the project briefs, the proposals, the messages, the reviews, the text inside listing images, and live calls carried across a language gap by real-time captions or a spoken translated voice. Zinn Projects is the buyer-first side of the marketplace. Instead of browsing ready-made Zinns, buyers post their project brief and receive proposals from vetted freelancers. It works alongside the main Zinns system so you can choose whichever suits you — shop a fixed-scope service or brief a custom project and have freelancers come to you.
Do I get a full freelancer profile?
Yes. Every Zinner gets a full public profile showing their services, completion rate, reviews, social links, Telegram store (where enabled), and all Zinns in one place. You control display name, profile type, bio, and branding. Buyers connect with you — not just another generic seller ID.
What support do buyers actually get?
Unlike platforms that disappear the moment payment clears, we actively help buyers succeed.
