Preset attributes help Zinnectors (buyers) find exactly what they're looking for — and help YOUR services get discovered. This guide explains each attribute, why they matter, and how to use them effectively.
Preset Attributes on Your Zinns
Attributes are optional but highly recommended. Without them your listings will not appear when buyers use search filters, which means you are invisible to a large portion of potential customers.
Where to Set Your Attributes
Attributes are set in Step 5 (Service Details) of the
Zinn Creation Wizard. To update attributes on an existing Zinn, go to your
Zinner Dashboard, find the Zinn you want to edit, open it in the wizard, and navigate to Step 5.
Fill in as many attributes as honestly apply to your service. Incomplete profiles look less professional than complete ones, and every attribute you leave blank is a filter you will not appear in.
Why Attributes Matter
When Zinnectors browse services they can filter results by these attributes. A buyer filtering for freelancers who respond within 24 hours, offer three or more revisions, speak French, or are based in a specific country will only see Zinns where those attributes have been set. If yours are blank, you simply will not show up.
Beyond search visibility, attributes also build trust. Buyers can quickly see key details without reading your entire description — how fast you respond, how many revisions are included, your experience level, whether you will sign an NDA. A complete attribute profile looks professional and gives buyers the confidence to place an order.
The Available Attributes
Availabilitytells buyers when you are available to work. Options are 24/7, Weekdays and Weekends, Weekdays Only, and Weekends Only. Be realistic — if you have a day job and freelance in evenings and weekends, choose Weekdays and Weekends rather than overpromising with 24/7.
Countryshows where you are based. Over 200 countries are available. You can only select one — choose where you primarily operate from. Some buyers specifically look for freelancers in certain regions for timezone alignment, language familiarity, or legal reasons.
Languages Spokenis a multi-select field with over 100 languages available. Select every language you can work in professionally. If you offer services in multiple languages, add them all — it opens you up to a much wider pool of buyers.
NDA Availableis a simple Yes or No. Most professional freelancers should select Yes. Many businesses require an NDA before sharing sensitive information, and being willing to sign one signals professionalism and opens doors to more opportunities.
Project Sizes Handledsets expectations about the scale of work you can take on. Options run from Small Only through Small to Medium, Medium, Medium to Large, Large, and Any Size. Be honest here — if you are a solo freelancer managing multiple clients, claiming Any Size may set unrealistic expectations. Small to Medium often reflects reality better and attracts better-matched buyers.
Response Timetells buyers how quickly you typically reply to messages. Options range from Within 1 hour through to Within 3 days. Be realistic about your actual average — consistently failing to meet your stated response time leads to frustrated buyers and negative reviews. Fast response time is a genuine competitive advantage, so if you can genuinely respond quickly it is worth highlighting.
Revisionsshows how many revision rounds are included in your standard service. Options are 1 through 5 and Unlimited. Simple services like proofreading or basic graphics typically suit 1 to 2 revisions. Creative services like design or writing usually warrant 2 to 3. Complex services like branding or web development often benefit from 3 or more. If you offer unlimited revisions, make clear in your description that this means unlimited rounds within the original agreed scope — not unlimited new work.
Years of Experiencelets buyers filter by expertise level, from 1 year up to 10 or more. Count your professional and paid work in your field including employment, freelance, and significant project experience. Be honest — inflating your experience sets unrealistic expectations that experienced buyers will often detect. If you are newer to freelancing, strong work samples and reviews can easily outweigh years of experience.
Service Typeindicates whether your Zinn is a standard one-time service or a subscription-based recurring service. This helps buyers who are specifically looking for ongoing retainer arrangements find your subscription Zinns, and helps buyers looking for one-off work find your standard services.
There are additional attributes beyond this list, so make sure you review all available options in Step 5 of the Zinn Creation Wizard when setting up your listing. The full set of attributes is visible there and grows as the platform develops.
Best Practices
Fill in every attribute that honestly applies. Update them when things change — if you gain more experience, improve your response time, or change your availability, keep your attributes current. Consider what filters a buyer looking for your specific service would use, and make sure those attributes are set on every relevant Zinn.
You can also reinforce your best attributes in your listing description. Something like "With 8 years of experience and same-day response times, I am committed to delivering exceptional results quickly" adds personality to what the attributes show at a glance.
