Zinn Hub offers multiple product types to give you flexibility in how you sell your services. Each type serves different purposes and allows different selling strategies.
Service Types on Zinn Hub
Zinn Creation Wizard, you choose your product type in Step 1 (Basics). There are two product types available on Zinn Hub:
Simple Serviceis a standard one-time service with a single price and a single deliverable. This is the right choice for the vast majority of Zinns — a defined piece of work that a buyer purchases once and you deliver within an agreed timeframe. All service-specific features including requirement questions, delivery time settings, order chat, and service status tracking are automatically enabled by the wizard. There is nothing extra to configure to make it behave like a service.
Examples: "I will write a 500-word blog post", "I will design a professional logo", "I will audit your website for SEO issues"
Subscription Serviceis for recurring billing on ongoing work. Instead of a single payment, buyers are charged automatically on a schedule you define — weekly, monthly, yearly, or any interval you choose. This is ideal for retainers, maintenance plans, regular content delivery, and any service where the work repeats over time. Choosing Subscription in Step 1 unlocks the subscription-specific pricing fields in Step 3 including billing period, billing interval, subscription length, sign-up fee, and optional free trial.
Examples: "Monthly SEO management", "Weekly content creation", "Ongoing website maintenance plan"
Which Should You Choose?
Choose Simple Service if you are delivering a defined piece of work for a one-time payment. This covers the overwhelming majority of services on Zinn Hub and is the quickest to set up.
Choose Subscription if you are offering ongoing recurring work where the client pays on a regular schedule rather than per project. If you are unsure, Simple Service is almost certainly the right starting point. You can always create a subscription version of an existing Zinn later by cloning it and changing the product type.
Offering Tiered Pricing on a Simple Service
If you want to offer Basic, Standard, and Premium pricing tiers, you do not need a different product type — you can do this within a single Simple Service Zinn by combining Zinn Extras (to sell the upgrades at checkout) with Custom Information Fields (to display what each tier includes). This is the recommended approach for package-style offerings and keeps everything in one listing. The
Zinn Creation Wizardwalks you through both of these in Steps 7 and 9.
