Rather than charging by the duration of a piece, we charge by the number of notes to be transcribed or arranged. A short but dense piece can require far more work than a long sparse one. When you place your order, the quantity you input represents the number of notes. We count notes by exporting a MIDI from MuseScore — this includes chord notation — and counting all notes programmatically. Sections of four or more identical measures for any instrument are counted only once.

We provide real examples you can use as a reference — please ask us via the order chat or message us before purchasing and we will point you to the examples. If you are unsure, contacting us for a custom quote is the easiest approach. Most of our clients do exactly that.

If you purchase more notes than your project requires, the remaining balance can be used towards any future transcription order — simply let us know. If you purchase noticeably fewer notes than needed, we will transcribe up to the limit of your purchased note count and contact you promptly through the order chat to discuss how to proceed.

Chord notation is counted based on the individual notes within each chord as they appear in the exported MIDI. For example, four repeating three-note chords would total twelve notes. As with all sections, if those chords repeat identically across four or more measures, the repetitions are not charged again.

Yes. We can create any type of arrangement — simplifying a piece, adapting it for different instrumentation, transposing, and more. Arrangements are priced exactly the same way as transcriptions: by note count. Send us a message describing what you need and we can advise on the best approach.

Absolutely. We handle conversion of manuscripts, MIDI files, and other formats into PDF, Guitar Pro, XML, or other common notation formats. The same note-count pricing applies. Get in touch with details of your source material and desired output format.

In the unlikely event that the first delivery does not match what was agreed, revisions ensure you receive the correct result as a top priority. Revisions also cover minor subjective preferences such as enharmonic spelling or title formatting. They do not cover changes outside the original agreed scope — for example, switching to a different song, adding extra instruments not included in the package, or requesting additional output formats.

Gradual deliveries or progress updates during the process can be arranged, but this must be agreed before the order is accepted. Depending on schedule and project complexity, an additional fee may apply. Please raise this request before placing your order.
