Overview
Zinn Hub has specific image size and aspect ratio requirements for service listing (Zinn) images. These requirements ensure all listings display consistently across the marketplace and look professional on all devices. This article explains the accepted image dimensions, aspect ratios, and how they relate to the Zinn Images AI generator.
Accepted Aspect Ratios
Zinn Hub accepts two aspect ratios for listing images:
- 3:2 ratio— This is the standard landscape format. Examples: 1200 x 800, 1500 x 1000, 1536 x 1024, 1800 x 1200.
- 4:3 ratio— This is a slightly taller landscape format. Examples: 1200 x 900, 1600 x 1200.
There is a tolerance of approximately 5% on the aspect ratio, so images do not need to be pixel-perfect ratios. For example, an image at 1.45:1 ratio would be accepted as close enough to 3:2 (1.50:1).
Minimum Size Requirements
All listing images must meet these minimum dimensions:
- Minimum width: 1200 pixels
- Minimum height: 800 pixels
Recommended Sizes
For the best results on Zinn Hub, we recommend the following image sizes:
3:2 Ratio (Recommended)
- 1536 x 1024— This is the size generated by Zinn Images in Zinn Listing mode. Excellent quality, optimised for the marketplace.
- 1500 x 1000— A common alternative that works well.
- 1800 x 1200— Higher resolution for maximum detail.
- 1200 x 800— The minimum acceptable size in 3:2 ratio.
4:3 Ratio
- 1600 x 1200— Good quality in 4:3 format.
- 1200 x 900— The minimum acceptable size in 4:3 ratio.
How the Zinn Creation Wizard Checks Images
When you upload an image to your Zinn listing through the Zinn Creation Wizard V2, the system automatically checks:
- Width— Must be at least 1200 pixels. If too small, you will see: "Image width is Xpx — minimum is 1200px."
- Height— Must be at least 800 pixels. If too small, you will see: "Image height is Xpx — minimum is 800px."
- Aspect ratio— Must be close to 3:2 (1.5:1) or 4:3 (1.33:1). If neither, you will see: "Image ratio is X:1 — please use 3:2 or 4:3."
How Zinn Images AI Works with These Requirements
The Zinn Images AI generator in Zinn Listing mode is pre-configured to meet all listing requirements automatically:
- Output size: 1536 x 1024 pixels (exceeds the 1200 x 800 minimum)
- Aspect ratio: Exactly 3:2 (1.5:1)
- Format: WebP (optimised for web display)
Image Optimisation on Upload
When you upload an image to a Zinn listing, the system automatically optimises it:
- Images larger than 1600 pixels on their longest edge are resized down to 1600 pixels (maintaining aspect ratio).
- All images are converted to WebP format at 82% quality for optimal file size and loading speed.
- Portfolio images are resized to a maximum of 800 pixels on their longest edge.
Social Media Mode Sizes
When using Zinn Images in Social Media mode, you can choose from three sizes:
- 1024 x 1024(square) — Ideal for Instagram posts, profile images, and thumbnails.
- 1536 x 1024(landscape) — Good for Twitter/X headers, LinkedIn posts, and blog banners.
- 1024 x 1536(portrait) — Good for Instagram Stories, Pinterest pins, and mobile-first content.
Common Image Size Errors and Solutions
"Image width is Xpx — minimum is 1200px"Your image is too narrow. Resize it to at least 1200 pixels wide, or use Zinn Images in Zinn Listing mode which generates images at 1536 pixels wide.
"Image height is Xpx — minimum is 800px"Your image is too short. Resize it to at least 800 pixels tall, or use Zinn Images in Zinn Listing mode which generates images at 1024 pixels tall.
"Image ratio is X:1 — please use 3:2 or 4:3"Your image is not the right shape. Crop it to a 3:2 ratio (e.g. 1500 x 1000) or 4:3 ratio (e.g. 1200 x 900). Alternatively, use Zinn Images in Zinn Listing mode which always generates the correct 3:2 ratio.
Quick Reference
For Zinn listings: Use 3:2 or 4:3 landscape images, minimum 1200 x 800 pixels. Recommended: 1536 x 1024 (Zinn Images default).
For social media:Use any size from Zinn Images Social Media mode — square (1024 x 1024), landscape (1536 x 1024), or portrait (1024 x 1536).
