Switch from Codementor to Zinn Hub
Codementor publishes a mentor platform fee of 13% to 22%, set by how active you were that week. Zinn Hub starts you at 0% on your first $500, then moves to tiered rates that fall as you sell — and gives you three ways to reach a buyer instead of one.
Three earning channels · 0% on your first $500 · 45 languagesThree ways to earn from one Zinner account
Codementor's freelance side works by posting a request and reviewing responses. Zinn Hub keeps that motion and adds two more — so the same profile can sell passively, bid actively, and be hired directly.
Publish fixed-scope engineering packages — a code review, a bug fix, an API integration, a performance audit — and buyers purchase at checkout with no back-and-forth. Browse what already sells in Programming & Tech and Software Development.
Buyers post a brief and you send a proposal. Proposals cost nothing — there are no bidding credits to buy. Posting a project is free for the buyer too, which is why briefs keep arriving in Software Development and API Development & Integrations.
A public profile with your stack, your rate and your work. Buyers browse by skill and hire you without a listing or a proposal — for example through Python, React or Software Development.
One profile. Three routes to the same buyer.
You do not have to use all three. Each reaches a different buyer — the one who wants a fixed price now, the one with a brief, and the one who wants to hire a person rather than a package.
Six things developers ask us for
These are the reasons engineers give when they open a second account.
You want a rate that improves as you grow
Zinn Hub is a lifetime-sales ladder: 0% on your first $500, then tiered rates that fall as you sell — as low as 7% on Agency Zinner. The full ladder is on the pricing page.
You want the money in your own account
Connect your own Stripe or PayPal and buyers pay you directly at checkout. If you would rather Zinn Hub hold the payment until the order completes, choose platform-protected payments instead and you are paid from the payout run.
You want more than one way to be found
A Zinn sells on its own. A project proposal puts you in front of a buyer who has already written the brief. A directory profile gets you hired with no listing at all. All three run from the same account.
You want to sell outside your main specialism
Nothing limits you to one category. The same account can list a Rust refactor, a machine-learning pipeline and a WordPress fix, and each sits in its own part of the catalogue.
You want buyers who do not read English
Zinn Hub renders in 45 site languages, and buyers can be messaged in 12 more — 57 in total. Prices are shown in USD with an approximate equivalent in any of 59 display currencies.
You want small work to be worth listing
Micro Zinns are fixed-price services at $5, $10, $15 or $20 — the right size for a config tweak or a single failing test. See Website Bug Fixes or QA & Software Testing.
What Codementor publishes about its own fees
Stated from Codementor's own help centre, and nothing else. Where Codementor does not publish a figure, this page does not print one.
- Mentor platform fee
- Codementor's help centre article “Is there a fee for being a Codementor?” states a platform fee ranging from 13% to 22%, depending on the mentor's activity for that week. Codementor describes the range itself as varying considerably, so it is a band and not a single rate.
- Client service fee
- Percentage not published
Codementor's article “What are service fees?” confirms that a service fee applies to credits, live sessions, freelance jobs, direct payments and code reviews, and says it is “calculated based on a variety of factors”. It states no percentage, so none appears here. - How a live session is billed
- Codementor states that the minimum charge of a paid session is the mentor's 15-minute rate, and that time after that is billed in per-minute increments once the paid session is started.
- Posting a freelance hiring request
- Codementor's own copy states that it does not charge anything when a client posts a freelance hiring request.
- Codementor and Arc
- Codementor's own blog describes Arc as a separate hiring product, with Codementor continuing as a mentorship platform, and records that the former CodementorX name was retired into Arc. They are different products and this page compares only Codementor's freelance side.

How to move your Codementor work across, in four steps
You do not have to close anything to do this. Run both, compare the results, and decide later.
Zinner sifatida ro'yxatdan o'ting
Free, and every feature is available from the start. Three wizards walk you through it: Store Setup, Payment Setup and Zinn Creation.
Import what you already wrote
Paste an existing listing or a whole profile into Import My Services and it comes back as ready-to-review Zinns. Free, self-serve, and you confirm everything before it is submitted.
Turn sessions into fixed scopes
Per-minute mentoring does not port directly, so package it: a 60-minute pairing session, a repository review, a stack audit. Fixed scope, fixed price, no clock.
Switch on the other two channels
Publish a directory profile so buyers can hire you without a listing, then start answering briefs in Projects.
What moves with you, and what does not
The honest version, so nothing surprises you in week one.
- Your listings and your writing: yes
- Your service descriptions are yours. Import My Services turns them into draft Zinns, images included, and you review each one first.
- Your reviews and your rating: no
- Reviews sit in the account that collected them. Zinn Hub requires a confirmed purchase before a review can be left, which is why an imported star rating would be meaningless. Import My Services can carry up to ten of your reviews across word for word as displayed history.
- Your clients: yes, if you invite them
- Check the terms of any platform you are on before you move a live engagement off it.
- Your first weeks: a rebuild, not a transfer
- Publish two or three well-scoped Zinns, add a directory profile, and answer briefs while the first sales land. Your first $500 carries 0% commission, so the rebuild is the cheapest part.
