Zinn Hub never charges you to make a call — no setup fee, no subscription, no per-minute video cost. You only ever spend Call Credits when you and the other person don't share a language and you want live translation. Share a language, and the whole call costs nothing.

Credit rates are set by Zinn Hub and always shown before you commit

Credits are reserved up front for the length of the call multiplied by the rate, so a call can never quietly run past what's been paid for. The live rates, your balance, what's reserved and what's still available are all shown on your Calls page before you confirm anything. Group calls cost more, because translation scales with the number of people and languages — that's shown to you transparently too.

The Language Check, Every Time You Book

You tell Zinn Hub which languages you can personally hold a call in. When a call is booked, we compare your list against the other person's.

Set your call languages once

On your Calls page, add every language you're genuinely comfortable holding a live conversation in. If you don't set any, Zinn Hub uses the language you've chosen to be messaged in. This is separate from the language you read the site in — see how language works across the whole marketplace.

Who Covers the Translation?

Somebody has to cover the credits on a language-gap call — and Zinn Hub makes sure it's always clear who, before anyone joins. The most specific setting wins.

  1. This one call Either person can open an upcoming call and switch "Who covers live translation for this call?" at any time. Beats everything below, for that call only.
  2. This one person A one-time invite link or a Custom Offer written for a specific buyer can carry its own who-pays choice.
  3. This one service A listed call service or offer can be set to seller-covered or buyer-covered.
  4. Your default Every Zinner sets "Who covers live translation by default?" on their booking page — the person booking pays, or I cover it.
  5. Sensible fallback Otherwise: the person booking covers a discovery, pre-sales or booking-link call; the seller covers a delivery or follow-up call.

Whoever is covering the credits is also the person who chooses captions or voice. If your host is covering it, you simply see "Your host provides live translation for this call — free for you," with no cost and no picker. Nobody can ever spend someone else's credits.

It lives at a stable web address of your own and works for anyone, forever — share it in your bio, your signature, an email, anywhere. Whoever opens it signs in first, then sees the whole page in their own language, right-to-left where that applies, with times in their own detected timezone named on screen. You never guess what language your visitor speaks, and neither do we. Turn the page off any time to pause new bookings without touching the calls you've already got.

What group calls cost

If nobody on the call needs translating, adding a participant costs nothing at all. If there is a language gap, group translation costs more — more people, more languages — and the extra credit is re-reserved under the same who-covers rule, shown to the payer before it's confirmed. Sellers set a seat cap of 2 to 8, counting both principals.

Make it a call

In the Creation Wizard, Step 8, set your delivery to a live video session or add "Live Video Call" as a delivery format. Custom Offers, Micro Zinns and imported services can all be call-enabled the same way. Leave Step 8 as non-video and the Zinn simply isn't a call.

Set availability, languages and defaults

On your Calls page: your weekly hours and timezone, the languages you can hold a call in, the lengths you offer, whether group calls are on, and who covers translation by default.

Get booked

Someone books from your booking page, an invite link, an order page, a project, or after buying a call service. Anything bought but not yet timed sits under "To schedule" until a slot is picked.

Clear the language check

Share a language and you're straight through, free. If there's a gap, the payer picks captions or voice, credits are reserved for the booked length, and the call is confirmed.

Get reminded

Both of you get reminders at 24 hours, 1 hour and 5 minutes before — each in your own language and local time. If you've synced a calendar, it's already in there with the join link.

Go live

The join link opens five minutes before the start time and runs in your browser — camera, mic, screen-share, and live captions or translated voice if you booked them. Nothing to download, no links to share.

Afterwards

Only the credits actually used are charged; the rest of the reservation is released straight back to you. Your recording, if you made one, is waiting for 90 days.

Who can offer calls

Selling and offering calls — booking pages, invite links and paid call services — is open to verified Zinners. If you're not verified yet, your Calls page will show you how. Booking, joining and buying a call is open to every registered Zinn Hub user.

Video, audio, screen-share, scheduling, reminders, calendar sync and call history are all included with every Zinn Hub account. There is no per-minute charge for the call.

Buy credits in one-off packs or a monthly plan, both shown live in your dashboard. Credits are only ever spent on live translation, and only when the two of you have no shared language.

Everything settles in US dollars

Prices, earnings, payouts and refunds are all in USD. Your own currency is shown underneath as a helper — display only, so Zinn Hub never adds a hidden exchange margin. Refunds go to your Zinn Wallet.

Reservations behave like a wallet

Credits are held when you book, moved when you reschedule, released in full when you cancel, and committed only for the minutes actually used when the call ends. Your Calls page always shows three numbers: your balance, what's reserved for calls you've already booked, and what's available to book new ones with.

Do Zinn Calls cost anything?
The call itself is always free for both people — no setup fee, no subscription, no per-call or per-minute charge. The only paid part is live translation, and only when you and the other person don't share a language. That's charged in Call Credits at the rates shown on your Calls page.
What's the difference between captions and voice?
Captions transcribe each speaker, translate them, and show live subtitles to the other person in their language — 1 Call Credit per minute. Voice does all of that and also plays a spoken translated audio track to the listener, quietening the original speaker underneath while the translation plays — 2 Call Credits per minute. Both rates are shown live in your dashboard before you commit.
Who pays for the translation?
Whoever covers it — and it's always decided before the call is confirmed. Every Zinner sets a default (the person booking pays, or I cover it from my credits), and that can be overridden for a single invite, a single Custom Offer, or a single call. Whoever is paying is also the one who picks captions or voice. If your host covers it, you'll see a note saying so, with no cost and no picker. If you both share a language, nobody pays anything.
Can I cover translation for one person without changing my default?
Yes — three ways. Send them a one-time invite link set to "I cover it". Send them a Custom Offer set to seller-covers. Or, if the call is already booked, open it under Upcoming calls and switch "Who covers live translation for this call?" — a per-call override beats everything else, for that call only. Your default for everyone else is untouched.

Yes, if the Zinner has group calls turned on. Sellers add co-hosts (who get the same camera, mic and screen-share rights as the host); buyers add teammates. The seller sets a seat cap between 2 and 8, counting both of you. Everyone is added by username — never email — and everyone on the call must be a registered Zinn Hub user. There are no guest or anonymous joins.
How does scheduling work across timezones?
Times are stored in UTC and always displayed in your own timezone, which is named on screen rather than vaguely described. Each booked call also shows the other person's timezone and their call language, so there's never any "9pm whose time?" confusion. Every reminder arrives in your own local time, in your own communication language.

Only where recording has been enabled for that call and both parties consented at booking. A recording is stored for 90 days so you can download it and refer back — you're warned before it's automatically deleted, in its own notification, so it can't be missed.
Is my booking page public?
It's a permanent link that anyone you share it with can open and reuse, but it isn't indexed by search engines, and a logged-out visitor only sees your name and an invitation to sign in — never your availability. Once someone signs in, the page renders in their language, right-to-left where that applies, with their timezone detected and named.
Who can sell or offer calls?
Booking pages, invite links and paid call services are open to verified Zinners. If you're not verified yet, your Calls page will point you to verification. Buying, booking and joining a call is open to every registered Zinn Hub user.
Can a buyer ask me for a call?
Yes. Buyers can request a call from their own Calls page — pick a Zinner, pick a slot from that Zinner's availability, and the call is booked free of charge. It's the natural way to have a discovery conversation before committing to a purchase.
