China link building is two different jobs sharing one name: earning visibility inside Baidu and its own Baike, Zhidao, Tieba and Baijiahao properties for mainland readers, or building Chinese-language links on Google for Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and the diaspora. Baidu devalues traded links far more aggressively than Google does, weighting hosting location, page speed and original Chinese content instead. Zinn Hub connects you with Chinese Zinners who work in both lanes. Providers are ID- and skill-verified, reviews come only from confirmed purchases, and payment sits in escrow until the placements are live. Pay by card, PayPal or cryptocurrency, with no buyer fee.

Why Hire Chinese Link Builders?

What a China-based provider knows that an offshore link seller does not.

🔵

They Understand Baidu

Baidu fills the top of its results with its own Baike, Zhidao, Tieba and Baijiahao before any external site. Chinese providers plan around that instead of selling links that cannot reach those slots.

✍️

Anchor Text Nativo

Written Chinese has no spaces, so anchors are chosen at the phrase level against how the engine segments the string. Native writers pick anchors that read naturally and survive an editor.

🏢

Real Publisher Access

Chinese trade titles, regional portals and B2B networks rarely answer cold outreach from abroad, and most negotiation happens on WeChat. Providers inside them reach editors a foreign agency cannot.

⚖️

Advertising Law Awareness

Chinese advertising rules prohibit superlatives such as best or number one in commercial copy. A local writer will not hand you an article a publisher must pull later.

Provider Verificati

Every Zinner offering Chinese link building is ID- and skill-verified before they can sell, and every review comes from a confirmed purchase.

🛡️

Protezione Escrow

Your payment is held until the placements are live and you have checked them. Paying up front often goes wrong here.

The Practical Guide to China Link Building

What the market really looks like, what to brief, and how to judge the work.

Two Different Jobs Wear the Same Name

Most disappointing China campaigns begin with a brief that never said which China. Mainland China is a Baidu-and-super-app market where Google is blocked; Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and the diaspora are a Google market that happens to read Chinese. The engines, script and publishers all differ, so a Simplified Chinese Baidu specialist cannot move a Taiwanese Google ranking. Accept, too, that much of what a Western marketer calls search never touches the open web: product research runs through Xiaohongshu, questions through Zhihu and Baidu Zhidao, discovery through Douyin, B2B enquiry through WeChat official accounts. None of those hands out followed links, so work aimed at them is entity building, not link equity.

What Actually Ranks Inside Baidu

Baidu still handles the largest share of mainland open-web search, with Sogou, Shenma, 360 and Bing behind it. What matters structurally is that Baidu ranks its own properties above almost everything else — Baike for entities, Zhidao for questions, Tieba for community threads, Baijiahao for news-style articles, Wenku for documents. A first-page slot usually means owning a module rather than out-ranking it, which changes what a link is for, because Baike, Zhidao, Zhihu and Weibo links are nofollow or routed through a redirect gateway: their value is search real estate, not ranking equity. Baidu has also spent a decade demoting traded links through Green Radish, Qingfeng and Thunder, and recovers far more slowly than Google, so tactics that merely underperform elsewhere can bury a site here. Baidu SEO is a separate skill.

The Technical Prerequisites That Outrank Any Backlink

Before spending on placements, prove the site can be seen. Register the domain in Baidu Search Resource Platform, the rough equivalent of Search Console: verify ownership, submit a sitemap and a robots file, and use the submission endpoints so pages get crawled. Then check three things. Whether Baiduspider can reach you, since many CDNs and bot-protection rules block mainland IP ranges by default. Whether the page loads for a mainland visitor, because Google Fonts, Analytics, reCAPTCHA, YouTube embeds and Tag Manager all hang behind the Great Firewall. And hosting and ICP filing — mainland servers require an ICP licence and therefore a Chinese legal entity, so most foreign brands compromise on Hong Kong or Singapore hosting, far faster than Europe and needing no filing. Many buyers start with China SEO services and add links afterwards.

Script, Variant and the Anchor Text Problem

Use Simplified Chinese for the mainland and Singapore, Traditional Chinese for Hong Kong and Taiwan. Running a converter over the characters is not localisation: Hong Kong and Taiwan use different technical vocabulary from the mainland and from each other, and Hong Kong copy carries Cantonese-influenced phrasing a Beijing writer will not produce. Anchor text needs the same care, because Chinese is written without spaces, so an anchor is a phrase chosen against how the engine segments the string, not a keyword bolted into a sentence. Ask for the anchor list in Chinese up front, with a natural share of brand and bare-URL anchors. Zinn Hub lists Simplified Chinese, Chinese translation and anchor text as separate skills; if the page itself needs localising, brief it alongside China content writing.

Time Zones, Golden Week and Chinese New Year

The whole country runs on one time zone, UTC+8, with no daylight saving. London gets a narrow but real overlap: 09:00 in London is 16:00 in Shanghai, so British mornings are the window. The United States barely overlaps at all, since 09:00 in New York is 21:00 in Beijing, so plan a clean daily handoff. Then plan around the calendar, which stops outreach dead: Spring Festival moves between late January and mid-February and realistically removes two to three weeks of publishing capacity rather than the official week, the National Day Golden Week of 1 to 7 October does the same on a smaller scale, and Qingming, Labour Day, Dragon Boat and Mid-Autumn take a few days each. If your window crosses one, agree the revised date in writing, or shift that month to a market on another calendar: Japan link building, South Korea link building or Malaysia link building.

What a Good Brief Contains

The strongest briefs are short and decisive. State the market and engine — mainland Baidu, or Greater China on Google — the script and regional variant, and whether the target URLs load and index there today. Add your ICP and hosting status, so the provider knows whether they are building towards a site Baidu can favour or one it will throttle. Give the Chinese anchor list, or ask for one to approve, and name your restricted-vertical exposure honestly, because gambling, adult, VPN, crypto, medical claims and consumer finance are tightly regulated in Chinese advertising and a publisher will remove the piece. Then define the deliverable: live URL, screenshot, rel attribute and Baidu snapshot date per placement, how many other commercial links you accept, and how long the article stays up. Filter by Chinese backlinks within backlink services shortlists providers who can answer all of it.

How to Judge a Chinese Link Placement

Check the placement before releasing escrow. Open the live URL and read the raw HTML, because a link injected by JavaScript is worth nothing; confirm the rel attribute; run a site query on baidu.com for that URL and read the snapshot date, because an unindexed page is one Baidu has not accepted; and count the other commercial links, since syndicated press pages often carry dozens, as with any PBN backlink buy. Treat quoted metrics sceptically. Sellers advertise Baidu Weight, written BR, from tools such as Aizhan, Chinaz and 5118 — not a Baidu metric, but an estimate built from projected traffic on ranked keywords, so a site ranking for junk terms shows a flattering number. Read the keyword profile instead. And nobody can guarantee an organic Baidu position: guaranteed-inclusion and instant-indexing claims are marketing. Judge niche edits and guest posting on the page you are given, never on the score attached to it.

Domande Frequenti Domande

Common questions about hiring link builders for the Chinese market.

It depends on where your readers are. Inside mainland China Google is blocked, so the targets are Baidu plus Sogou, Shenma, 360 and Bing, and much discovery happens inside WeChat, Xiaohongshu, Zhihu and Douyin rather than on the open web. In Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and among the diaspora, Google dominates and Baidu is close to irrelevant. Decide which you are buying for before briefing anyone.

They count for far less than on Google. Baidu has spent a decade demoting traded links through its Green Radish, Qingfeng and Thunder updates, and weights hosting location, page speed, freshness and original Chinese content much more heavily. Links still help with crawl discovery and with the smaller engines, but volume alone is money wasted.

Check three things before buying a single link. Whether Baiduspider can reach you, because many CDNs and firewalls block mainland IP ranges by default. Whether the page loads for a mainland visitor, because Google Fonts, Analytics, reCAPTCHA and YouTube embeds all hang behind the Great Firewall. And whether the domain is in Baidu's index, which a site query on baidu.com reveals.

Simplified Chinese for the mainland and Singapore, Traditional Chinese for Hong Kong and Taiwan — and it is not only a character conversion. Hong Kong and Taiwan use different technical vocabulary from each other and from the mainland, so a mechanical conversion reads as foreign. Never accept a converted mainland article as Taiwanese copy.

Ask for the live URL before releasing payment, read the raw HTML to confirm the link is really there and not injected by JavaScript, and check the rel attribute. Run a site query on Baidu for that URL and read the snapshot date to confirm it is indexed. Ask in writing whether the article stays up, because cheap placements are often quietly deleted.

Typical marketplace ranges run from about $5 to $60 for Zhidao or Tieba seeding, $25 to $120 for a Baijiahao article, $80 to $400 for a soft-article guest post or niche edit on a Chinese industry site, $150 to $800 for a Baidu Baike entry, and $400 to $2,000 a month for an ongoing campaign. These are indicative ranges, not a Zinn Hub guarantee.
